Ultimately – in our opinion – it’s best to sell the house as-is. As of 2021, inflation is VERY high, and the costs of all building materials have skyrocketed. Paint, wiring, flooring materials, windows, wood — everything has doubled or tripled in price. And labor costs are off the charts high. So what used to be relatively cheap to fix, is now very expensive to fix (or update). Even if you do the work yourself, it will take forever and you still have the costs of the high building materials. And you’ll want the satisfaction it’s done right, by having professionals (e.g. a plumber or electrician) fix the house, vs you doing it yourself.
