If you buy my rental property, can my tenant stay? Yes – in most cases.
At minimum, we’ll fulfill the terms of their original lease with you, so if they have 6 months left in a written lease, of course…they can stay. That’s a matter of state law actually.
And if we decide we would like them to move after their lease is up, we’ll give them proper written notice AKA plenty of time to pack up & find something new.
And many times we’ll let tenants stay for a long time, depending on if we want to upgrade the house / keep it as is / etc.
In all circumstances, we’re all about taking care of people, whether they home sellers (AKA you) or tenants. So we’ll do our best to work with them.
